Djata is a care-free 12-year-old growing up in the dystopian Homeland. When he finds out that his father Peter has been imprisoned by the authorities and he and his mother Hannah are labeled traitors, Djata vows he will not rest until he sees his father again.。一幢即将清拆的旧楼内，住着一群老街坊，各有不同背景，大都是草根市民。而这幢旧楼正被大地产商看中，计划将之收购重建，故派遣手下向各住户威迫利诱迫迁。各街坊为着得到更优厚的赔偿，各怀私心，抱着强硬态度与地产商对抗，发生连串激烈纠纷，但当中亦使两家斗气冤家化敌为友，同舟共济，面对困难。。
