主角尼克是一位文学学士，经常引经据典，语出惊人，幽默感极强。以前是个警察，后来被诬陷开除后成立了尼克斯洛特私人侦探所，有1位美丽的女搭档----西尔维。两个人既是搭档也是朋友，有着共同的人生观但是却有着不同的性情。两个人共同在金玛利亚岛上的热带海滩上执行任务，有好友伊恩（后来为斯拜德）的酒吧作为休闲和侦察的场所。也经常有“马后炮”的警长横加干涉。总之，是一部非常轻松，自由的连续剧。。A medical school dropout and a housewife/mom try to make it as stand-up comedians. They become friends and help each other out at an NYC comedy club.。A young street magician is left to take care of his little sister after his mother's passing and turns to drug dealing in the Los Angeles party scene to keep a roof over their heads. When he gets into trouble with his supplier, his sister is kidnapped and he is forced to rely on both his sleight of hand and brilliant mind to save her。
