Volker Schlöndorff transposes Bertolt Brecht’s late-expressionist work to latter-day 1969. Poet and anarchist Baal lives in an attic and reads his poems to cab drivers. At first feted and later rejected by bourgeois society, Baal roams through forests and along motorways, greedy for schnapps, cigarettes, women and men: ‘You have to let out the beast, let him out into the sunlig...。叹那豹子头林冲，曾经是八十万禁军教头，本无野心壮志，只盼与娇妻携手共老，安度此生便已足够。怎耐世道邪恶，不容好人立锥之地。只因恶了高太尉，生事陷害，无端受了一场官司，便被刺配到一个偏远所在看管草料场。偏那一夜大雪正紧，草屋被雪压塌，气短英雄百感交集，只得暂避破庙之中过夜。而就在此时，仇家尾随而至，势要将林冲斩尽杀绝。夜深人静，杀气腾腾，皎洁月下，暗箭齐发。一世英雄已然沦落至此，怎可欺人太甚！ 本片根据中国古典四大名著《水浒传》中林冲的经典段落改编。。
